VirtaMove Launches SiteLyft™ ServiceNigel Stokes
VirtaMove’s unique migration containers for cloud and Windows migrations are now available as an online, subscription service to help you move websites to the target Windows platform of your choice.
Ottawa, Feb 17, 2016 – VirtaMove is the leading provider of migration container software for Windows Server and cloud migration. Using VirtaMove containers, hundreds of customers in Banking, Finance, Pharma, Healthcare, Retail, and many other industries have migrated thousands of servers. No company in the application migration market has migrated more Windows workloads in a shorter time than VirtaMove.
VirtaMove is now unlocking and simplifying its migration technology to help companies who need to migrate websites using Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 and hosted on Windows Server 2003. The new SiteLyft™ service is an online, subscription service on VirtaMove.com, which will let customers economically and efficiently re-host IIS 6.0 hosted websites for a simple fee of $1,000 (US) per site.
Approximately 153 million websites worldwide are served by IIS 6.0, which typically runs on Windows Server 2003. This number is growing daily, despite the fact that extended support for Windows Server 2003 ended on July 14, 2015. This means that modernization challenges are becoming ever more widespread and meaningful. VirtaMove is here to help address the vulnerability of unsupported installations, one website at a time.
VirtaMove’s products and services provide a fast, flexible way to move server applications to a cloud or datacenter, without code change. Encapsulating Windows applications in VM/OS-free containers, VirtaMove’s patented software moves most Windows server applications with ease. VirtaMove allows you to move applications from an old operating system to a newer one, and to modernize and move to the cloud efficiently.
VirtaMove is the proud recipient of a myriad of awards, including Application Modernization Finalist in ICT Business Services, Brightlight’s Hottest Startups, CIO.com’s 10 Hot Cloud Startups to Watch, Cloud Startups- Top 50 Award and 25 Cloud Startups to Watch.
